Wait! Before you build a letter, click here to learn about all the things you can do after you create your FREE account.
Select a letter type and click the Add New Letter button to create your letter.
Select a letter type below. You may choose a simple cover letter, a custom cover letter, a thank you letter, or a follow up letter.
The cover letter (see example) is your introduction to the employer. Its main purpose is to get the employer to read your resume. The purpose of the resume is to get an employer to see you! The cover letter shows how your background fits the particular job. Whenever you send out a resume, send a cover letter along with it. For best results, read the cover letter Do's and Don'ts first.
The simple cover letter allows you to specify the position applied for, and to create three or four simple paragraphs. The custom cover letter allows you more flexibility in structuring your letter.
Follow up letters are sent after an interview, and to follow up on a job application or a resume which you have submitted.
Thank you letters are sent after a job interview or other employment-related event.
